Maybe you’ve made one or two or even five model volcanoes in your time, but have you ever made one that glows? This simple activity puts a fun twist on the classic science experiment Your kids are sure to love it! Here’s how it works:
What you need:
- Baking soda
- Glow in the dark paint
- Dish soap
- Tall glass
What to do:
- Start by adding ½ cup of baking soda to your glass. Follow that with one teaspoon of your glow in the dark paint.
- If you want the eruptions to last longer and happen slower, add a little bit of dish soap.
- Pour in ½ cup of vinegar and watch as your glowing volcano explodes!
- To see the glowing colors best, you’ll want to turn the lights off. You may also want to add multiple paint colors to make amazing rainbow volcanoes.
