We’ve scoured the internet for the most fun-filled educational math projects out there and come up with some pretty fantastic results. Check out our favorites below and tackle your favorites with your child!

  1. The Million Dollar Project: In this project, your child gets an imaginary million dollars and a set of rules. They must spend as much of the money as possible (but not any more) with some conditions, including a charitable donation, money for college, and others. By researching each choice they make and explaining each decision, your child will build on their financial skills while having a ton of fun.
  2. The Absolute Value of Football: Have your child create their own football field. Feel free to get as big and creative as you want for this. Then tackle the sometimes confusing topic of absolute value with a little educational game of football. Enjoy!
  3. Pythagoras Theorem Game: This homemade board game not only looks fun, but also involves doing some math with every turn. Your child will have the Pythagorean theorem down in no time and will have enjoyed every minute of learning it. Check it out!
  4. Integer Flash: This two-player card game is a great way to help your child learn and practice multiplying positive and negative numbers. All you need is a deck of cards and we think you’ll be hard-pressed not to have a good time.
